Replacing The Oil And Oil Filter On A Fiat 500x MJET
The oil filter housing is located just above the right side drive shaft so you may need a short spanner. This 'How To' is based on the 1.6 MJET.

 | Undo the the x4 10mm undertray screws (x2 front, x2 rear)... |

 | ...and the x4 Philips (x2 on either side). |
|
 | The sump plug is 13mm. |
|
 | Drain the oil into a suitable waste container. |
|
 | The cap to the oil filter housing is 32mm (there will be some oil spillage). |
|
 | Remove the old oil filter and replace the o-ring seal. |
|
 | Insert the new oil filter and screw on the cap. |
|
 | Renew the sump plug washer and replace the sump plug. Fit the undertray. |
|
 | Undo the oil filler cap. |
|
 | Pour in about x5 litres of the recommended engine oil. Screw the oil filler cap back on then briefly start the engine to circulate the oil. |
|
 | Pull out the dip stick. |
|
 | Wipe it, put it back, pull it out again and check the level. Top up if necessary. |
