We are unable to accept a card payment over the phone from any destination outside of the United Kingdom.
Personal Data
Our general policy of treating our customers as we'd like to be treated ourselves has always guided our privacy policy way before GDPR. We have never bought or sold any data about you, nor shall we ever.
How we communicate with you
We only communicate with you for processes relating to a particular task initiated by you.
If you book your car into our workshop online, we send you emails for: confirmation, reminder of booking two days before, and a request for feedback at the end. We may also send you one or more text messages of updates on your vehicle's progress. We will also email you reminders of the vehicle's MOT, service due and cambelt change due dates (as applicable) for no more than two anniversaries after we have seen your car. And that is it.
If you buy parts from us online, we'll send you emails for: confirmation of receipt of order, dispatch of goods (with your tracking number), and a request for feedback a few days later. And that is it.
If you express an interest in one of our performance development projects, we will occasionally email updates on the progress of that project until it goes into production or you unsubscribe. And that's it.
What data on you we have
All online payment data is processed by PayPal; we get to see none of this.
We collect IP address data to help us keep the bad guys at bay and help us identify just the country you are coming from so we can build accurate shipping charge options for you as you build your cart without you having to fill out any other forms.
Otherwise, it's just the obvious name, address, email and phone number data that we need to fulfill what you've asked us to.
How you remove your data
We only keep your data in one of two places. Your My Details tab and the invoice file. You can ask us at any time to remove your data, or if you want to see it yourself, just overtype "Deleted" on all your details in the my Details tab and Submit. We are however required by HMRC to keep the invoice data for seven years.
We also separately keep the service history of your vehicle as part of our "cradle to grave" policy, as successive owners will tend to bring the same vehicle back to us. Once the new owner brings in that vehicle to us, or you remove the link to that vehicle in the My Vehicles tab, or your data is removed, or you just tell us you have sold the vehicle, your link to that vehicle is removed.
Cookie Policy
Our cookies get deleted automatically once you close your browser. This may be a bit OTT these days, as people are generally more comfortable with cookies now, and you may find this a bit inconvenient if you create a cart and want to come back to it later only to find it's gone. So, this policy is up for review.
